Mercedes Benz EDC17C66 AdBlue, DPF, EGR Removal
There are multiple models of Mercedes which are equipped with EDC17C66 ECU:
- C class W205 and S205 (the T model or station wagon version)
- V class W447
- Vito W447
The engines which use this model of ECU are the 1.6L OM626 and the 2.2L OM651. The Vito and V class W447 models with OM 651.950 engine code.
The C class W205 and S205 with OM 626.951 engine code.
In the first step you need to check the fault codes using scanner or diagnosis tools and indicate the DTCs related to AdBlue, DPF, and EGR.
Adblue Related Fault Codes:
Here are some of the common AdBlue fault codes.
- P20E8: Reductant pressure too low (AdBlue pump/pressure fault)
- P20E9: Reductant pressure too high
- P204F: SCR system efficiency malfunction
- P208E: Reductant injector (dosing valve) stuck open
- P208F: Reductant injector stuck closed
- P20EE: SCR NOx catalyst efficiency below threshold
- P2200 / P2201: NOx sensor circuit malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1 / Sensor 2)
- P2202 / P2203: NOx sensor circuit low / high input
- P229F: NOx sensor 2 performance
- P2BAE: NOx exceeded, insufficient AdBlue dosing
A List of DPF Related Fault Codes:
- P242F: DPF ash accumulation
- P244A / P244B: DPF differential pressure too low / too high
- P2463: DPF soot accumulation (clogged filter)
- P246C / P246F: DPF temperature too low / too high during regeneration
- P2452 / P2453: DPF differential pressure sensor circuit low / high
- P2458: DPF regeneration duration too long
- P2459: DPF regeneration frequency too high
A List of EGR Related Fault Codes.
- P0401: EGR flow insufficient detected
- P0402: EGR flow excessive detected
- P0403: EGR control circuit malfunction
- P0404: EGR control range/performance
- P0405 / P0406: EGR position sensor circuit low / high
- P0490 / P0491: EGR control circuit high / low
- P0487: EGR throttle position control circuit
- P2141 / P2143: EGR shut-off valve electrical malfunction
In the next step you need to read the ECU file using OBD ports or Bench/Boot mode with programmers like Kess3, KessV2, Ktag, Flex, Autotuner, etc.
1.Afterwards upload your file on our website, and send all the related DTCs in the description our Experts will provide the removal solution within 15 minutes.
2. Download the file and write the modified file back to the car using the same protocol.
3. Clear fault codes and do a forced regeneration.
4. If you have any issues in any of above step, please contact our technical team they’ll guide you.
To remove AdBlue you only the module requires modification. The AdBlue module itself doesn’t need to be reprogrammed.
Here’s some information about AdBlue and DPF sensors, and their locations:
Note: for AdBlue off solution you must remove the AdBlue module plugs.
AdBlue module location:
The AdBlue ECU on Vito and V-Class is on the driver side around the steering column.
And on C-class is next to the AdBlue tank in the trunk/boot area near the AdBlue tank.
This is the AdBlue module:
For DPF removal solution you can disconnect the DPF pressure and temperature sensors.
DFP Related Sensors location:
- Exhaust temperature sensor upstream of DPF (pre-DPF)
Screwed into the exhaust pipe just before the diesel particulate filter. It measures exhaust gas temperature going into the DPF.
- Exhaust temperature sensor downstream of DPF (post-DPF)
Screwed into the exhaust pipe just after the DPF housing. It monitors how hot the exhaust is after filtration.
- Additional sensor (pre-turbo / pre-cat):
On some OM626 variants, there’s also an exhaust gas temperature sensor near the turbocharger or oxidation catalyst, upstream of the DPF.
How to identify them?
They look like slim probes threaded into the exhaust with a heat-shielded wire leading to a connector.
Follow the exhaust pipe from the turbo → oxidation catalyst → DPF (large canister under the car, near the center). You’ll see one sensor before the canister and one after it.
Notes:
Most W205 OM626 setups, and W447 OM651 setups use 2-3 EGT sensors (depending on Euro 6 version).
Where’s the DPF pressure sensor located?
On the firewall or bulkhead, at the rear of the engine bay (near the right-hand side, viewed from the driver’s seat).
Connected to the DPF via two small rubber or metal pipes (usually one black and one gray) that run down toward the exhaust system.
For EGR off solution, you need to disconnect the EGR actuator plug.
The EGR actuator is typically situated on the right-hand side of the engine (passenger side in left-hand drive vehicles), near the EGR valve. The electrical connector for
the actuator is usually positioned on the side or top of the actuator housing.
If you need a tested AdBlue, DPF, EGR, DTC off file for your Mercedes Benz V-class W447, Vito W447, C-class W205 and S205, send us your ECU file and receive a professional solution in the shortest possible time.
